The Arimathean Book Volume 2 Vernon J Baker 9781480072039 Books
I loved the first book so much that I could not wait to get my hands on this one. While I am happy to have read more from this author and in this series, I have to say I am rather disappointed. His first book had a lot thought put into each character, chapter and twist in the plot. You were able to lose yourself in that story as if you were there. This one while still holding a bit of the original aura failed to deliver on the promise of a rich engaging story continued. There was a lot of sadness and unexplained events in this book, also, many parts seemed rushed or forced. My suggestion is for the author to take some time and expand on the story, and don't rush the third book no matter what we, his loving fans say. Several of my favorite authors such as Stephen King and Dean Koontz have been know to lets years go by between a sequel, with good results.

The Arimathean Book Volume 2 Vernon J Baker 9781480072039 Books Reviews
The Arimathean is a great continuation to Slow Boat to Purgatory. The interweaving of past and present as well as the main character, Alex's search to find his destiny. Over all is the fascinating story of Gaspar, the immortal warrior, who surrounds those he has saved from death with gentle guidance and his love of the best of the human spirit.
I hope their is as 3rd book.the storylines were diverting, picturesque and moving. The battles for souls, how we live our lives detrimes where we go beliefs and disbelief clashing in our brains.old religion clashing with modern times What is Alex role in this, will he replace the immortals
What do both sides want of him.
This is the second book, I thought the first was amazing but the second book, gripped my heart and mind. What IF This Story is (was) true?? would it really bring the world as we know it to a halt?? What if HIS mortal remains is still here on earth, along with the spear and HIS robe guarded by a lost order of the Templars?? I am an avid reader and its hard to find a book that makes me think.
Enjoyed the book and am looking to read the 3rd in the series. Fast action. Story moves fast. Story is well written and you become invested in the two main characters. The villains need to be developed a bit more.
As with the first one, another excellent read. I do however feel this one is sadder than the first one. With what Gaspar and Alex had to go through is what made it sad for me. I also think there are a lot of unanswered questions, and hoping they will be answered in the next books to be written. All in all, I loved this book as I did the first one. Looking forward to next one, and also hoping it won't take as long! I could read it now if it were available.
The second in a series and still just as compelling. The story draws you in. Pulling the reader into another world. You feel the happiness and sorrows of the characters. I look forward to more.
I love this story. This was book 2 of I don't know how many. And I didn't see the third book out as yet, darn. Gaspar is an immortal who collects lost souls, delivering them to Heaven, Hell or Purgatory, depending on how they have spent their lives. Alex is somehow tied to his story but we still don't know all the details of that. Gaspar is centuries old, battling the forces of darkness and trying to protect Alex from all sorts of danger, mortal and otherwise. Fascinating! I loved these first two books and am anxious for the next one.
