Zeke eBook Wodke Hawkinson

Zeke eBook Wodke Hawkinson
Many women have had a Zeke in their lives - I met one many years ago who almost destroyed me emotionally, but fortunately not actually murderous. Wodke Hawkinson's Zeke, beautiful on the outside, truly monstrous on the inside, is one of the most disturbing characters I have encountered recently. Master manipulators have an uncanny instinct for finding vulnerable girls and women, playing them like fish on the end of a line, allowing just enough wriggle room then reeling them back into their emotional net.Susan, uncertain about her place in the world, is the perfect victim for Zeke, who is "resting up" by servicing a local wealthy widow while he seeks out his next mark. Having worked on Susan's mind until she is ready to leave town with him, they embark on a dangerous course. Susan soon realises what Zeke is really like, but keeps denial in the forefront of her mind. How can she admit she has made a terrible error in judgement, especially after the increasingly depraved acts into which Zeke manipulates her?
The sense of foreboding which this novel engenders in the reader is a masterpiece of writing. Terror for Susan's plight had me forcing myself not to flip to the last pages to see if she survived her ordeal. I am glad I didn't because it would have spoiled the ending for me.
Well-written and superbly crafted, not for the faint-hearted.

Zeke eBook Wodke Hawkinson Reviews
I have read and enjoyed Wokde Hawkinson's book, "Betrayed" with both endings. I started off enjoying "Zeke", but I could not finish it. The escalating and graphic sexual violence in the book was too much for me to continue reading. In some ways, this speaks to the authors' level of creativity but it was not not appealing to me.
I don't like to post negative reviews, unless I feel very strongly about the review and for me to NOT finish a book is highly unusual. I am hoping that if someone else might be dettered by this type of writing, they will take my review into consideration.
Having said that and because I did positively review "Betrayed", I will continue to follow this author for additional works.
I actually love this book, it shows the mind of tinted not the victim. Its dark, its twisted, n well written. It should be more popular then it is. I read this book years ago n had to search my library to find it. I will be recommending this along with a few others
The cover art suggests this is erotic. This novel in NOT erotica. A web of Black literary Magic woven by these authors!
This review has taken me days of contemplation to write. I read a few reviews which said this is not realistic and the female could not be that dumb and this could never happen.. WAKE UP.. it CAN and DOES happen to young girls everyday!
My review This novel is a stark rare look into the mind and of a psychopath.. you watch the progression of insanity; you have a front row seat watching the finesse used to cast the line, set the hook into a fragile innocence and the long slow reeling in of the line... the closer the line is reeled in the more the vulnerable innocence thrashes, finally realizing the consequences of being caught.
Look into yourself and remember when you were so young and ignorant of the evils of the world.. remember the crush on the oh so hot guy (girl) in school.. remember what it felt like to go along with the crowd.. to fit in.. remember the little voice you chose to ignore warning you not to toilet paper Mrs. Jones house.. but you did it anyway.. because you wanted the approval of going along with the crowd?
My warning Not a novel for those who haven't the courage to look at the dark side of this life we are part of. You better have courage because it will stay in your thoughts... sneaking in.. for a very long time.
Holy Wow, this was one strange read. I was initially skeptical and it took me awhile to commit to Zeke. I found this book after reading a different novel that explored Stockholm syndrome and purchased it after reading multiple reviews and the free sample. Zeke is a well written story on how looks can be deceiving and young girls with low self esteem can be easily played. Exploring both the magnificently warped mind of a psychopathic murderer and the maliable mind of a young woman who ignores every red flag warning until it is too late to escape, the author takes the reader on an uncomfortable journey that leaves you emotionally drained but ready to discuss trusting your "inner voice" with your teenage daughter! I am not big on spoilers so my reviews are not overly detailed.
Susie meets Zeke and is instantly enamored with him. The author does a fabulous job of describing how Zeke wins her over with his looks, smile and personality. Susie is somewhat of an introvert living with her parents who are stuck in an 80's timewarp with little knowledge of their only child's life outside their home. When Zeke talks Susie into leaving their boring life behind and heading out on the open road in search of freedom she has absolutely no idea he is completely psychotic. Wodke Hawkinson does an excellent job of telling the story from the perspectives of both main characters, including the multitude of inner thoughts both have throughout the book. Be warned, this book is graphic and contains multiple rape scenes so if you have a weak stomach don't buy it.
I am looking forward to reading more by this author and have already purchased Betrayed.
